University Of San Diego - Spring 2016
In the spring of 2016, I completed my action research studying the effects of listening and participation in class discussions. The first cycle of research included student assessment their communication and their ability to paraphrase text and audio. During the second cycle, students practiced improv in the classroom for six weeks as a means to develop stronger listening strategies. The plan for cycle three included more interventions for increasing participation in discussions such as Spider Maps (Wiggins) and language for students to invite peers into the conversations.
In May of 2016, I graduated from USD and earned my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
